For early settlers, Curry Ford, on the Econlockhatchee River, was a connecting link from Central Florida to the east coast of Florida. In the early 1900s, many of the trails were blazed for railroad beds to transport timber and turpentine.〔(【引用サイトリンク】Florida Trail Association">url=http://www.floridatrail.org/Loop-and-Side-Trails/Central-Florida-Side-Trails/HalScott.html )〕
